02

Stone

Bold Stones, Refined Design
Since its inception, agete has treated gemstones as more than decorative elements—each stone is an essential part of the design.
From original cuts to raw and rough textures, we highlight the natural character of every gem.
By blending bold materials with intricate craftsmanship, we continue to redefine jewelry with elegance and creativity.

03

Spirit

Jewelry is deeply personal.
At agete, every piece begins with a thoughtfully chosen stone.
Some are selected to mark a memory,
others to express a feeling or capture a wish.
 From birthstones to engraved initials,
each piece becomes a reflection of the self,
or a gift that carries meaning for someone special.
Through jewelry, we offer a quiet presence—
something that gently enriches everyday life.

1990

Our Beginning

On June 9, 1990, the first agete boutique opened on Kotto-dori in Aoyama, Tokyo.
From the beginning, it stood out with its diverse selection—

silver and gold basics, pieces with precious and semi-precious stones,
 contemporary casual styles, original designs,
 and antique jewelry from Europe.

At a time when such variety was rare,
agete offered a truly unique shopping experience.

1990 Mid-term

A Deepening Connection with Stones

In the mid-1990s, agete began exploring unique natural materials
like ebony, cherry amber, rare minerals, and fossils—
elements seldom used in fashion jewelry at the time.

Labradorite, with its mysterious glow and unique nuance,
soon became a signature stone in many collections.

This period marked a shift, deepening agete’s passion for stones
 and their natural beauty.

Early 2000

The Rise of Motifs and Charms

In the early 2000s, classic moods began to reappear in jewelry design.
It was during this time that motifs and charms—now icons of agete—took shape.

Charms, which allow for layering and personal styling,
became a signature item reflecting agete’s unique fashion sensibility.

The concept of “anniversary jewelry” also emerged,
expressing the wish that each piece be a personal companion—
something with lasting meaning, close to one’s heart.

2000 Mid-term

A More Feminine and Glamorous Direction

By adding agete’s unique essence to classic materials
 like cameo and amber,
new and refined designs emerged in fashion jewelry.

These styles expanded the creative potential of jewelry
and resonated with a younger generation of women.

At the same time, growing diversity in taste and lifestyle
led to seasonal collections and the rise of limited-time offerings.

Early 2010

Timeless Jewelry, Worn with Style

As preferences shifted toward classic designs with a modern edge,
agete began to focus on premium materials like K18 gold and diamonds.

The collection grew to include pieces that highlight the brilliance of diamonds,
especially through minimalist necklaces featuring loose stones.

Even with similar designs,
agete paid close attention to every detail—
from stone settings to the curve of the chain—
bringing its signature style to life.
